Every extra password is one more thing to forget, reuse, or lose to a phishing page. MyInfo skips that problem entirely: there is no password on your account at all, only a one-time code sent to your email each time you sign in.
How the code sign-in works
Open the sign-in page and enter the email address you used when you created your card. Select the button to email yourself a code, then check your inbox for a six-digit number. Type it in, accept the current policies, and you're in your account. The same flow signs you in whether you're on the card editor, checking leads, or opening your account from a new phone. Full steps are in sign in with an email code.
Why MyInfo does it this way
- Nothing to remember. You can't forget a password that doesn't exist, and you can't reuse a MyInfo password on another site by mistake.
- Nothing to leak. A one-time code is useless to anyone a minute after it's used, unlike a password that stays valid until you change it.
- Nothing to reset. There's no "forgot password" flow to get stuck in — every sign-in already works the same way a password reset would.
- One identity, every card. If you manage more than one card on the same account, the same email and code get you into all of them.
If the code doesn't arrive
Most delays come down to the inbox, not MyInfo. Check your spam or junk folder first — search for "MyInfo" if it's not in the main list. Make sure you typed the exact email address you used to create your card, since a code sent to the wrong address will never show up. If a minute has passed, select Resend code; each new code replaces the one before it, so always use the newest email. If you're still stuck after trying these, see I cannot sign in or contact us with your card address and email.
A few habits that make it smoother
Use an email address you check often and won't lose access to — a work inbox you might leave, for example, is a poor choice for the account behind your card. If your company blocks external senders, ask IT to allow mail from MyInfo so the code lands in your inbox instead of quarantine. And because codes expire quickly, request one only when you're ready to enter it, rather than a few minutes ahead of time.
What this means for your card's security
Because there's no password to guess or leak in a data breach, the main thing protecting your MyInfo account is your email inbox itself — so keeping that inbox secure (a strong password there, and two-factor if your email provider offers it) is the one habit worth keeping. On top of account sign-in, Premium cards can also be made private with their own access code, so only people you've shared it with can view the card itself — see privacy and private cards.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a password to my MyInfo account instead?
No. MyInfo accounts are code-only by design, so there is no password to set. This removes an entire category of account risk — a reused or weak password — without any extra steps on your part.
What if I no longer have access to the email on my account?
Sign-in relies entirely on that inbox, so if you've lost access to it, contact us with your card address so the team can help. Using an email you control long-term avoids this from the start.
