A digital business card has room for much more than a paper one, which makes it easy to overdo. The best cards are clear about who you are and make one next step obvious.
The essentials
Every card should have:
- Your name, in full. As you would introduce yourself.
- Your role and company. So people can place you.
- A clear photo. A friendly, well-lit photo helps people remember you.
- One or two ways to contact you. A mobile number and an email are usually enough.
Useful extras
Add these when they help the person on the other end:
- WhatsApp. In the UAE it is often the fastest way to reach someone.
- Your website or a key page. Link to the page that best explains what you do.
- A booking link. If people book you, put the button on the card.
- Google Reviews or Directions. Helpful for shops, clinics and restaurants.
- A short video. A YouTube introduction adds personality. Free cards can show one.
- A text section. Opening hours, services or a short message.
What to leave out
- Everything you would not put on a public poster. A card is public. Skip home addresses and private numbers.
- Long biographies. Keep About to two or three lines and link to more.
- Every social account you have. Include the ones you actually use for work.
- Ten buttons of equal weight. Too many choices means none get chosen.
Put the most important thing first
People decide quickly. Use the Layout tab to order the sections around the action you want: for a consultant, a booking button; for a restaurant, the menu; for a salesperson, WhatsApp. See reorder and hide sections.
Match your brand
Use your brand colours and fonts so your card looks like your business. Create a theme and reuse it for every card in your company.
A final check
Before you share it, open your card on your phone and ask: in five seconds, can a stranger tell who I am, what I do and how to reach me? If yes, you are ready. Create your free digital business card.
