A good digital business card takes about five minutes to make and works on every phone. This guide walks through it, with tips at each step.
What you need before you start
- Your email address, to sign in
- A profile photo, if you want one
- Your phone number, email and website
- Your social profile links and any page you want people to visit, such as a booking page
Step 1: Choose your card address
Your card lives at a short address such as myinfo.ae/yourname. Use 3 to 20 letters, no spaces or numbers. Your own name is usually best for a personal card, and your business name for a company card. You cannot change the address later, so pick one you will use for years. See choose your card address.
Step 2: Verify your email
MyInfo emails you a one-time code instead of asking you to create a password. Enter it, accept the policies and your card is created. See sign in with an email code.
Step 3: Add your details
In the editor, fill in the Content tab:
- Display name, company and job title
- A short About text of two or three lines
- Public email, mobile and office phone, and website
- Your photo, and a banner image if you like
Only add details you are comfortable sharing openly, because a card is a public page. See edit your card details.
Step 4: Add links that matter
Add social icons for LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp and the rest, and link buttons to the pages you want people to visit next. Think about the one action you most want someone to take after they meet you, and put that first. See add social icons and link buttons.
Step 5: Style it
Choose a built-in template in the Theme tab, or create your own theme with your brand colours and fonts. Use the Layout tab to put sections in the order that suits you.
Share it
Now the useful part. There are three ways to hand over your card:
- Link. Paste it in email, messages and your signature.
- QR code. Show it on your phone or print it. See QR code business cards.
- NFC. Put the link on an NFC card for a one-tap share.
Then test it. Open your card on your own phone and, if you can, on someone else's phone of a different make.
Keep it fresh
A digital card only helps if it is current. Whenever something changes, edit it in the editor and every visitor sees the update. There is nothing to reprint.
