Choosing a digital business card template that fits your profession

How to pick a digital business card template that suits your profession, from built-in styles to a fully custom brand theme.

Your card's design is the first thing anyone notices, before they read a single word of your title or bio. Pick the wrong look and even a well-written card feels off; pick the right one and it feels like it was made for your business. MyInfo gives every card a template to start from, so the decision is quick even if you want to get it exactly right.

Start with one of 22 built-in templates

Every new card opens with a built-in template. In the card editor, go to the Theme tab, and under Built-in styles click through the options — the live preview updates instantly, and nothing is saved until you pick one. Nothing about your details, links or photos changes when you switch, so there is no risk in trying several before settling.

Match the style to how your profession is seen

A template that reads as trustworthy for a lawyer can read as cold for a salon. Some starting points from MyInfo's ready-made styles:

Whatever you pick, choose a template with strong contrast between text and background — cards get read outdoors, on a bright screen, more often than at a desk.

Fine-tune with a colour and a font

Once you have a built-in template you like, the Classic options under the same Theme tab let you set an accent colour and pick from six card fonts, without opening the full theme studio. This is enough for most one-person cards: a template plus your colour.

Want your exact brand colours? Build a theme

If you need your company's precise palette, the theme studio goes further: accent, background, text and button colours by hex code, heading and body fonts, text size, left or centre layout, photo shape, corner style and button style. The studio checks that your text and background stay readable together, so you cannot save a theme that is hard to read. Follow create and apply a theme to build one, or browse the eight ready-made starting styles on the templates page first.

One theme, every card in your company

A theme is saved once and can be applied to more than one card. Update the theme later — say your brand colour changes — and every card using it updates at the same time, so nobody is left with the old look. Free accounts can save one custom theme; accounts with a Premium card can save several, which suits a company with more than one style of card. See themes and branding for the full picture.

Try it before you commit

Because changing a template or theme never touches your content, there is no reason to overthink the first choice. Open the editor, click through a few built-in styles, and pick the one that looks most like your business today — you can always switch it later. Frequently asked questions

Does changing my template delete my content?

No. A template or theme only changes how your card looks. Your name, details, links, photos and sections stay exactly as you entered them, no matter how many times you switch styles.

Can I use a different template for each card in my company?

Yes, but you do not have to. You can pick a different built-in template per card, or save one theme and apply it to several cards so they share a consistent look — useful for a sales team that wants every card to match.
